KIS 2009 is not compatible with Windows 7. If you are now running Windows 7, you should upgrade to KIS 2010 (version 9.0.0.736) for free. Please go to www.kaspersky.co.uk/upgrade for full instructions on how to do this.

Yes, you can upgrade to Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. Simply download the latest version from this page. Save the download to a convenient location (e.g. Desktop or My Documents). Once the download is complete, close all the links. You can choose to install it on top of your current version or, as we advise, uninstall your current version via the Add/Remove feature on an XP machine, or Uninstall Program on Vista. First, turn off your current Kaspersky program by right-clicking on the existing 'K' icon in the system tray in the bottom right of your screen. Click exit, then uninstall. After your machine has restarted simply install the 2010 version by double-clicking on the downloaded file that you have saved. Follow the installation wizard. Once installation is complete you will then be asked to activate the software. Once your machine has powered up, you will be prompted to activate:
- Choose to activate a new licence
- Activate commercial licence
- Enter your activation code
- Click next
This should now have finished and you should see the message: "licence key successfully installed." If you require further help activating your 2010 version, the question on activation codes may be helpful.

To apply for the offer you need to be a member of Barclays Online Banking. If you are a member, follow the steps below:
- Go to www.barclays.co.uk and log in to Online Banking;
- From the "at a glance" screen, click the Kaspersky offer link located at the bottom of the right-hand menu;
- Click the "apply" button for Kaspersky Internet Security;
- Follow the on-screen instruction to complete the registration form;
- Once completed, click Next; an email will be sent to you from Kaspersky;
- We require you to validate your email address - you can do this by clicking on the link in the email you receive, and then selecting Next;
- Once your email is validated, you will be able to download a fully functional 30-day trial version of the application;
- Over the next few days, Barclays will validate the information you provided at registration. Once this is validated, an activation code will be emailed to you;
- Enter this code into the trial version to convert your 30-day trial to a full 365-day licence. For help on how to do this, please refer to the question on activation codes
- If you receive an email indicating that "Unfortunately, we have not been able to process your application," click here.

In order to apply the activation code to the 2010 version of the software, please follow the instructions below:
- Left click on the Kaspersky icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your desktop screen (System Tray);
- In the main Kaspersky window, left click on the word "License" at the bottom of the window;
- Left click on "Activate new license";
- Ensure that "Activate commercial licence" is selected;
- Enter your activation code exactly as it appears (it will be laid out in the format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX), or copy and paste it into the box;
- Follow the rest of the procedure prompts to fully activate the software;
This will then connect to our activation server, which could take several minutes;
The process will then finish with the message "Key file is successfully installed".

Log in to your Online Banking and click the 'Kaspersky Offer' link located at the bottom of the 'Interested In…' menu. Select the 'Renew' option on the following page and follow the on-screen instructions.

During the registration process, the details that you enter on the application form must match the name registered against your Online Banking membership. It is recommended that you use the same details that are displayed at the top of your Online Banking 'At a Glance' / 'My Portfolio' screen.

You must validate your email address before a code is released. Following your registration, you will receive a request from Kaspersky Lab to validate your email address. Within 72 hours of your email address being validated, you will be sent an Activation Code.

Yes - you can re-apply, but you must use the same email address and membership number used in the original request.

Yes - If you have lost your original activation code, you can re-request your code by reapplying for the offer again using the same email address and membership number. If you have already validated your email address, the code will be sent to you within 24 hours.
If you have lost your renewal activation code, you can re-request your renewal code by following the renewal option and reapplying for the renewal again using the same email address and membership number, the code will be sent to you within 24 hours.

The Activation Code (which comes in the format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) can be applied by following the steps below:
- If you have already installed the Trial Version:
- Left click on the Kaspersky icon on the bottom right-hand corner of your desktop (System Tray)
- Left click on the License tab.
- Left click on the Merge/Delete icon on the lower part of the page.
- Left click on "Activate online".
- Type the code or copy and paste it into the box.
- Remove the check or un-tick the box referring to customer ID and password. Leave these fields blank.
- Follow the rest of the procedure prompts to fully activate the software.
- If you have not installed the Trial Version:
- Please install the trial version using this following link: click to download the trial software and select Version 2009 (8.0.0.506) - English to download the software.
- Follow the installation prompts and the software will then install with a 30 day trial licence applied to it.
- Once you receive your Activation Code from Kaspersky you will need to apply the new code in order to change the licence to a full year:
- Left Click on the Kaspersky icon on the bottom right-hand corner of your desktop (System Tray)
- Left click on the License tab.
- Left click on the Merge/Delete icon on the lower part of the page.
- Left click on "Activate online".
- Type the code or copy and paste it into the box.
- Remove the check or un-tick the box referring to customer ID and password. Leave these fields blank.
- Follow the rest of the procedure prompts to fully activate the software.
Please note: You need to be connected to the internet in order to successfully activate the product.

Yes, any Activation Codes supplied through the offer will work with Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.
To upgrade, please click here, and select Version 2009 (8.0.0.506) - English to download the software. It will install straight over the previous version. Any remaining licence period associated with the previous version will be retained
