Security of IM-Based Communications
Kaspersky® Hosted IM Security protects corporate networks from threats that spread via Internet pagers. Such threats include IM worms, spam (SPIM), as well as leaks of confidential information via IM clients. Protection from malicious programs is provided by Kaspersky® Anti-Virus and Kaspersky® BitHunt, a system that provides proactive detection of IT threats.
Managing IM usage
Policy enforcement. The administrator can define user rights (e.g. contact with internal/external recipients only) and additional IM services for different groups of employees and times of day.
Content control. The service monitors IM messages for keywords/phrases from a list defined by the administrator. Messages containing keywords can be blocked, and notification sent to the administrator.
Blocking of Skype VoiIP. The service can be used to restrict the use of Skype by company employees.
Compliance with Regulations
The option to save and view all incoming or outgoing messages, both allowed and blocked, as well keyword searching, enables public companies to comply with legislation that makes it obligatory to save IM messages.
Administrative System and Reports
The service is managed via the secure web portal which allows the administrator to configure all settings and access reports for different periods (day, week, month or year) with varying levels of detail:
- hourly reports on incoming/outgoing traffic (the number of messages)
- top 10 users based on the number of incoming/outgoing messages
- top 10 users based on the number of blocked messages
- a detailed report on the use of Internet messengers in the company.
Any report can be automatically generated and sent to an email address specified by the administrator.
