Upgrade to version 7.0

These directions apply to both Kaspersky Antivirus and Kaspersky Internet Security 6, screenshots will only vary slightly.

Step 1. Download the latest Kaspersky version 7 from our site –

www.kaspersky.co.uk/productupdates

Ensure you download the correct product e.g. if you have Antivirus 6 then download Antivirus 7. You pick any server to download from and choose to save file to somewhere you can find it – My Documents is fine.

Note:

We recommend that you uninstall the existing version first and before installing version 7 to prevent any possible errors.

To do this:

1. Right click on current K icon by the clock and choose Exit.
2. Then go to Start->Control Panel ->Add/remove programs
3. Uninstall current Kaspersky program by pressing “Change/remove” button, when you get the option to retain Activation code and your settings please tick appropriate boxes.
4. Follow wizard through and press Finish at end to restart pc.
5. Run the new file as per Step 2 below.

Step 2.

Once new file is downloaded you are ready to upgrade from 6 to 7.

If you have chosen not to uninstall version 6.0, then you should exit the program: Right click on current K icon by your clock and choose Exit.

Then run the file you downloaded by double left clicking on it – you see this screen:

Step 3.

The installation will now start (Fig2.) Press Next

You then see the License Agreement – after pressing “I accept” you can then press Next. (fig3)

Step 5.

You then need to choose your install type. We recommend the Express install. (Fig 4)

If you choose Custom install you will get a list of components you can opt to install or not, this is for advanced users only.

Step 6

You are then asked to confirm the install, press Install button to go ahead (fig 5)

Step 7

Installation will then start and is indicated by a green progress bar. (fig 6)

Installation Complete, press next (fig 7).

You are now instructed to reboot pc. Press Finish to reboot pc. (fig 8)

Upon reboot if Kaspersky doesn’t appear as the icon by your clock you can start it via Start->All Programs and click on Kaspersky Internet Security 7 (Or Antivirus 7) and then on the Kaspersky Internet Security option (with red and black “K” icon)
