Do you constantly put it off or close the program? \u00a0If you do, then you should probably continue reading\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2014\/11\/05195912\/autoupdate-fb.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-5139\" src=\"https:\/\/media.kasperskydaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2014\/11\/05195912\/autoupdate-fb.png\" alt=\"autoupdate-fb\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Many of us continually put of updating our systems despite knowing that it can cause problems if we don\u2019t. \u00a0But why do we do this? \u00a0It\u2019s usually down to the following reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>My system works just fine so\u00a0why should I bother updating?<\/li>\n<li>What\u00a0happens if I introduce new bugs with the update?<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019m too busy<\/li>\n<li>It may add new features that I\u2019m unfamiliar with.<\/li>\n<li>I don\u2019t understand (or don\u2019t believe) the dangers posed by cyber-threats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">13% of respondents in a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/survey?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">#survey<\/a> said that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/cyberthreats?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">#cyberthreats<\/a> do not exist <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZntYJdeElo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">https:\/\/t.co\/ZntYJdeElo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kaspersky (@kaspersky) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kaspersky\/status\/532247723630944256?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">November 11, 2014<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s also odd is that some of us happily update our computers at home, but ignore it when we\u2019re at work. \u00a0This can be dangerous as not updating to the latest patch version or patch can leave holes in your system that an attacker could manipulate.<\/p>\n<p>A good example is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaspersky.com\/about\/news\/virus\/2014\/The-zero-day-Vulnerability-exploited-by-Stuxnet-still-threatens-users-Kaspersky-Lab-study-finds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Stuxnet virus<\/a>. \u00a0Four years after the vulnerability was patched by Microsoft, there are still infected computers out in the wild. \u00a0The reason is simple: poor maintenance of servers and personal computers leave the virus free to roam.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/MicrosoftNewss\/status\/535059744310845440<\/p>\n<p>One of the most important parts you need to keep up to date is your Operating System. \u00a0The second line of defence is your antivirus. \u00a0Keeping this up to date will ensure that any new or emerging viruses are\u00a0kept at bay.<\/p>\n<p>Even when it comes to so-called, \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zero-day_attack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">zero-day threats<\/a>\u2018 a good anti-virus program will keep these out using something called <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Proactive_cyber_defence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">proactive defence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-pullquote\"><p>Update your #Kaspersky Internet Security to 2015 version \u2014 and it\u2019ll keep itself up to date.<\/p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/share?url=https%3A%2F%2Fkas.pr%2F7wX3&amp;text=Update+your+%23Kaspersky+Internet+Security+to+2015+version+%E2%80%94+and+it%26%238217%3Bll+keep+itself+up+to+date.\" class=\"btn btn-twhite\" data-lang=\"en\" data-count=\"0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Tweet<\/a><\/blockquote>\n<p>Experts at Kaspersky Lab consistently work to detect new threats and develop new security technologies to protect its\u00a0users.\u00a0As ever: all Kaspersky Lab updates are free to download and install and usually only take a few minutes to fully install onto your computer.<\/p>\n<p>And if you\u2019re running Kaspersky Internet Security 2015, it\u2019ll update itself automatically in 2016 as well. \u00a0Who can argue with that?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What do you do when software asks to update?
