Roberto Martínez

Security Researcher, Global Research & Analysis Team, Latin America

Roberto Martinez joined Kaspersky Lab’s Global Research and Analysis Team in April 2012. He is responsible for analysing and monitoring the malware environment in Mexico through the analysis and forecasts of local trends, with a special focus on “ethical hacking”, forensics and penetration testing.

Prior to joining Kaspersky Lab, Roberto collaborated with ITlligent Security, where he participated in vulnerability scanning and penetration testing projects for companies in Latin America like Prose, Claro, Bancajeros Banet, among others. He is a member of the Mexican Association of Information Security (AMSI), Mexico Security Professionals, Digital Forensics Association (DFA), redteam: Association of Penetration Testers and is a member of Cyberwar & Cybercrime, an international community that disseminates relevant information on the subject of crime cyberspace. He participates in several educational initiatives in Mexico and is frequently invited to speak at IT security industry events across the region.

Roberto possesses extensive experience as a senior instructor in IT and information security, as well as a security solutions architect and researcher and expert digital forensics. He studied at the University of Guadalajara and Universidad Tec Milenio (ITESM) in Monterrey and is fluent in English and Spanish.
