Eugene Kaspersky to Speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos

16 January 2013

Abingdon, UK, January 16, 2013 –Kaspersky Lab’s Chairman and CEO, Eugene Kaspersky, will share his insight into the latest and future cyber threats endangering today’s reality during the ‘Building Cyber Resilience’ session at this year’s 2013 World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The panel discussion is open to the press and will be held on January 24 from 14.45 to 15:45 in the Congress Centre in Davos.

Together with Neelie Kroes, Vice-President and Commissioner for the Digital Agenda, European Commission; Richard Haythornthwaite, Chairman, MasterCard; and Ian Livingston, Chief Executive Officer, BT Group; Eugene will discuss the problems of both regulation and evaluation of cyber threats, and possible practices and policy development that could be embraced.

As a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Future of the Internet and one of the first signatories of the Partnering for Cyber Resilience initiative, Eugene Kaspersky continues driving awareness among business leaders and policymakers on the growing cyber threats that imperil the well-being of no less than the whole global economy. Cyber attacks have already become a serious challenge to major organisations worldwide, turning cyber resilience into a matter of critical importance for both companies and nation states together.

Stressing the importance of the Davos meeting, Eugene Kaspersky said: “The World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos is a unique event of global importance. To me, the main attraction is in the audience - business leaders and policy-makers from all over the world, gathering and sharing their ideas thanks to the truly neutral and non-partisan thought-provoking platform that the World Economic Forum has always been. What’s more, the meeting in Davos tends to bring together those who understand that cyber threats are a global challenge that needs to be resolved through a collaborative approach.”
