Stephanie Edwards and John Malatesta join Kaspersky Lab’s marketing operations team
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, has announced the appointment of two leading marketing executives to its European and US marketing team.
Stephanie Edwards, formerly of Symantec, and Dr John Malatesta, formerly of Sun Microsystems, will both become vice presidents in the corporate marketing team. Both will report to Randy Drawas, senior vice president of marketing operations, with a remit to help maintain Kaspersky Lab’s growth and momentum in a world where security threats are becoming increasingly global and complex.
Stephanie Edwards will be responsible for leading marketing efforts around Kaspersky Lab’s retail channels and growing the e-commerce business across North America and Western Europe: “Coming from years in the consumer security business, I’ve witnessed the emergence and evolution of Kaspersky Lab in the marketplace,” said Stephanie Edwards. “I’m thrilled to join a team of such calibre and to help this thriving business achieve even greater success.”
John Malatesta will responsible for overseeing and leading marketing across the B2B unit for North America and Western Europe from his base in Milan, Italy: “Joining Kaspersky Lab was a natural decision for me,” said John Malatesta. “With my roots in developing marketing and coverage strategies for international technology corporations, Kaspersky Lab presents a golden opportunity to take a company on the cusp of greatness and guide it to the next level.”
Randy Drawas welcomed both appointments, saying: “As we continue to meet the growing security demands in both the business and consumer markets across North America and Western Europe, it is essential that we have the right leadership and talent at the helm. The addition of Stephanie Edwards and John Malatesta to our world-class marketing operations team positions Kaspersky Lab for more success and growth. Their rich backgrounds span both security and marketing, and I’m confident they will help us continue to deliver on our commitment to provide businesses and consumers with reliable protection to malicious software.”
The new appointments follow a number of industry achievements and accolades for Kaspersky Lab including a Gartner ranking as one of the fastest growing vendors in the global security software market, placing it among the top 10 vendors by revenue in 2010, as well as the third largest vendor of consumer IT security software worldwide*; a Fast Company Magazine ranking as one the Top 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World; and a recently announced preferred supplier agreement with BASF, the world’s largest global chemical company, operating in more than 80 countries with more than 100,000 endpoints.
