New report presents data from InfoSecurity 2006
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions which protect against viruses, Trojans, hackers and spam, has released its most recent report on WiFi network security. The report presents data from the UK, including data collected during InfoSecurity 2006.
“The world itself is becoming increasingly mobile, with an enormous range of communication devices available. This is a relatively new phenomenon and, like all innovations, it’s of interest both to hackers and to information security companies. The situation is complicated by the fact that, like everything new, wireless networks and protocols still haven’t got over their teething troubles: in the hands of inexperienced users, they can pose a serious security risk. " said Alexander Gostev, the report's author.
Kaspersky Lab virus analysts regularly publish reports on mobile malware, WiFi and Bluetooth security. Such research is designed to investigate the current state of affairs and to heighten user awareness of security issues. Previous reports have focused on WiFi networks in Peking and Tianjin, WiFi networks at CeBIT 2006, mobile malware and Bluetooth security issues.
In addition to data on WiFi networks detected at InfoSecurity 2006, this latest report investigates the security of WiFi networks in business areas of London.
