First Transparency Center in the European Union will serve as a trusted facility for the company´s partners and government stakeholders under its Global Transparency Initiative.
Starting from June 14th, the new Transparency Center in Madrid fully operates and invites trusted stakeholders to review its source-code.
In the newly opened facility Kaspersky provides governments and partners with information on its products and their security, including essential and important technical documentation, for external evaluation in a secure environment. In addition to being a code review facility, the new center functions as a briefing center to learn more about Kaspersky´s engineering and data processing practices.
“Trust and transparency is becoming a fundamental for tech companies. We are proud to be the trendsetter in transformation, and to open our second transparency center in Europe. As a technological company, we are focused on ensuring the best IT infrastructure for the security of our products and data. We need to reestablish trust in relationships between companies, governments and citizens and the opening of the Center in Madrid is one more step in order to do so.” underlines Anton Shingarev, Vice President for Public Affairs at Kaspersky.
In November 2018 Kaspersky started data processing for European users in Zurich and also opened the first Transparency Center in the industry. In Switzerland, the center serves as a facility for trusted partners and government stakeholders to review the company’s code, software updates, and threat detection rules.
Kaspersky’s Global Transparency Initiative (GTI) is a reaffirmation of the company’s commitment to earning and maintaining the trust of its most important stakeholders: its customers. It includes a number of actionable and concrete measures to involve external independent cyber security experts and others in validating and verifying the trustworthiness of the company’s products, its internal processes and business operations, and to introduce additional accountability mechanisms by which the company can further demonstrate that it addresses any security issues promptly and thoroughly.
